LEATS Tournaments Held At Great Zimbabwe Hotel In Masvingo
Today on this day of the 31 first of May, we members of the club, celebrate the remarkable feats of our extraordinary minds and brave souls, who have traversed the battlefield of wit and wisdom in the LEATS tournament. As we bask in the glory of our accomplishments, let us remember the immortal words of Julius Caesar, “I came, I saw, I conquered,” and be assured that our valiant students have done just that!.
Picture it, if you will, the thrilling spectacle of our Debate, Public Speaking, Spelling Bee, and Quiz teams, wielding their intellectual might against rival schools like modern-day gladiators. The echoes of rhetorical jousting still reverberate through our minds as we recount the tales of their triumphs.
Our debate team was ushered into two formidable groups: Team Masvingo included our own members: Natalie Tigere and Aceline Mavazhe, and Team Bulawayo which included our own Tanatswanashe Mawire and Kundai Kawazva. Through four intense rounds of competition, Team Masvingo fought their way to the final four, ultimately securing an impressive third place out of sixteen exceptional teams. Their dedication and determination truly embody the essence of conquering new heights.
In the spelling bee category, Milter Moyo, Faustine Chimbindi, and Innocentia Mazadza represented our school with pride. After several grueling rounds, Milter and Faustine emerged as finalists, ranking among the top ten spellers. Their hard work and resilience have certainly paid off, bringing glory to our college.
Our junior quiz team, comprised Anenyasha Mhlaba, Thando Phiri, and Tawananyasha Kanotangudza, bravely entered the world of high school debates with opponents doing ‘A’ Level. They gained valuable experience and became armed with determination to rise to greater heights in the next tournament. Although they did not achieve their desired outcome, their growth as young intellectuals is undeniable.
In the public speaking category, Shaun Changambika, Loshiya Kasambarare, Marley Bezuidenought, and Anenyasha Gota mesmerised the audience with their eloquence and charisma.Their outstanding performances earned Marley and Anenyasha well-deserved spots in the top ten, with Anenyasha ranking fourth and Marley claiming seventh place!

Our adventure was made even more remarkable by our accommodation at the luxurious Great Zimbabwe Hotel and the opportunity to explore the awe-inspiring Great Zimbabwe Monument. These experiences not only strengthened our bond as a team but also broadened our horizons and ignited our passion for learning.
Throughout the tournament, our students displayed unwavering commitment, camaraderie, and a thirst for knowledge. And, of course, none of this would have been possible without the support of our dedicated administrative staff and patrons. We are immensely grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and forge unforgettable memories amongst all attendees.
We look forward to more exposure of this magnitude.
Glory be to God!
